Bespoke Log Cabin

Will you design my Log cabin even though we have ideas of our own?… Most people have already thought about what they want before we come for our initial visit. Almost always the end result is a mixture of your ideas and ours. If you would like us to design everything and help you from the first step then that would be our pleasure.

All the timber we use is pressure-treated and will last many years, although it’s not guaranteed, being a natural material. Like any building, particularly wooden, the more you look after it the longer it will last. We suggest a thorough clean of the deck every couple of years and then a complete soaking with a clear wood preservative over the whole structure, making sure all the nooks and crannies are well and truly soaked. The advantage of using a colourless preservative is that you can be very generous in your application. Wood rot mainly happens in joints where the timber remains wet.

Prices for Bespoke Log cabins range from £20,000 to £50,000.

Planning permission is likely to be required for larger constructions if visible and where open to the public. If someone takes exception to the structure once built, for whatever reason, and informs the Council you will almost certainly have to apply for retrospective planning and me even be required to take it down first. We are happy to be involved in the process from start to finish. There will be specific costs involved: Planning application fee and cost of the elevation drawings.

We build wooden garden structures from Scotland to the Mediterranean. Deliveries of timber and other materials will usually be necessary, preferably on the site.

Installation/construction takes between 10 and 21 days, depending on the size of the project.

Access for vehicles delivering tons of timber and for pick-up with trailer to the site where the construction will be erected will be necessary.
